INSTA SHOP | How to be more French à la Caroline de Maigret
If anyone knows how to teach us French style, it’s Caroline de Maigret. This is the woman who penned a guidebook, How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are, in order to teach us non-Frenchies how to achieve that illustrious je nais c’est quoi.
So when Caroline shares an outfit post on Instagram, you can be sure I’m taking note. Her latest snap sees her looking as insouciant as ever with artfully dishevelled hair, a signature smouldering stare and a need-it-now jacket.

Yes, the jacket. It comes from MdN, which stands for Mer du Nord, aka: the North Sea. Why does everything sound so much chicer in French?
The brand advocates, the website tells us, “effortless beauty, a free attitude, a sign of relaxation and elegance… Pretending not to care”. That’s Parisian style through and through.
The androgynous tailoring is the perfect mix between masculine and feminine, as you can see from the stiff flannel creation Caroline has taken a fancy to.
The Valenciana jacket is made predominantly of wool and features a crest on the chest pocket, an emblem for the collection. You can shop it online for €340, which is £300 if Google Conversion is anything to go by. Pass me a croissant.
UPDATE: Tiany Kiriloff has followed suit and snapped up the jacket too. Get it while it’s hot!
