Jessica Alba joins the pyjama (dressing) party
Think pyjamas are just for sleeping in? Don’t be daft!
Pyjama dressing has stepped up a notch in recent months with our favourite Instagram stars wearing relaxed, silky separates as daywear. It’s now totally OK – advisable, even! – to go out in your jimjams.
Kenzo’s hugely successful collaboration with H&M has only served to bolster the trend. The collection features a patterned blouse with long sleeves, contrasting colour piping and buttons down the front. It comes with matching silk trousers featuring an elasticated drawstring waist.
If that doesn’t scream pyjama chic, I don’t know what does. And the best bit? The stylish combo comes in at under £100. Hurrah!
It’s little wonder that even Hollywood types like Jessica Alba can’t resist. The actress-slash-entrepreneur wasted no time in slipping into the boudoir-inspired two-piece for a spot of Sunday relaxation. “#sundaze got me like,” she captioned alongside an envy-inducing photo of her marble bathroom. But this is one combo that’s waaay too pretty just to lounge in.
So put on your PJs and go out in public! The silhouette is incredibly flattering, easy to wear and a refreshing option for polished eveningwear. Made In Chelsea‘s Rosie Fortescue is also a huge fan and excellently embraces the trend all over Instas (see below).
There’s just a few things to remember…
Firstly, silk is the best option – it feels luxe and drapes better. Secondly, chose a bold print if you want to look fashion forward while a head-to-toe block colour is super-slimming as it elongates your body.
Add heels (preferably open-toed sandals) to elevate a full matching set and less is more on the jewellery front. Keep the look simple and you’ll be elegant and refined in a jiffy! Just leave your fluffy teddybear at home.
